Again, a well researched and well written piece. You are consistent in keeping us informed and better able to answer questions from friends and family who are not reading accurate information. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your work.
When local law enforcement says they're not working with ICE but there is a fusion center located in that city, or near that city, what are they really saying? That the federal agencies aren't sharing their information and plans with them any longer or that they are? When I see people online claiming calling 911 resulted in SWAT responding to ICE that makes me feel like we're either seeing some kind of Good Cop, Bad Cop theater or a real breakdown in the function of fusion centers. Which I definitely wouldn't want to imply is a bad thing, but it would leave us with even less understanding of the ever-expanding data capture and surveillance state and who is using what and to what ends.
If there's a fusion center nearby, local cops are likely sharing information with the federal government. However, the way the administration is running things, I doubt they are informing cops in certain jurisdictions about upcoming raids, leading to breakdowns in communication. Everything is so chaotic because of how the administration is running things (a huge part of it is intentional).
I just really want to know what their goal in those situations is, I'm assuming get people in charge who think more like they do? Which I have to assume is already more true than it isn't in LE. However majority Blue cities and states are not going to tolerate chiefs who publicly appear to back Trump. It's making everything that was already alarming feel dire.
Of course. When you look at Homeland Security Advisory Councils, it's a who's who of high-ranking law enforcement leaders, union bosses, sheriffs, etc., sitting on an executive-level council with near-direct access to the president.
It's kinda scary, to be perfectly honest. I bet Nixon would have loved that.
Corporate "news" continues to be a laughingstock sliding to total irrelevance. I scan AP, Reuters, get scores from ESPN and then duck out. If I want news with cold facts, I'll go to you, Heather Cox Richardson, Thom Hartman, Marlon Weems or others here on Substack giving plain truth.

Thank you!

I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say, we appreciate you!
Legacy media will never wake up from its well financed sleep which is why alternate media needs to become the main news.
Agreed.
