Trump’s Goal is Chaos
From Palestine and immigration to policing and the Constitution, the goal of the Trump administration is to create chaos
Falling right in line with the motivations of what was once referred to as the alt-right but is now considered mainstream conservative politics, the Trump administration is hell-bent on creating chaos to bring about radical change in the United States and the acceleration of the collapse of society. These ideas are not new. However, they are more of a threat than ever before.
When looking at various hate groups such as the Proud Boys, Active Club, Atomwaffen, and the Boogaloo Boys, creating chaos is a makeup of all of their manifestos. They’ve attempted to exploit anti-racism movements while calling any criticisms of racism “anti-white” racism. They’ve seen some success in driving wedges between various marginalized communities by exploiting bigotry within them. For example, one element of radicalizing Latinos to the far-right is by using anti-Black racism, homophobia, and transphobia.
While you may hear a lot of people accuse each other of being “accelerationists” in all aspects of political discourse today, it’s just another aspect of that chaos. Pundits on cable news shows have fallen for this hook, line, and sinker. Hate groups and accelerationist militias love seeing commentators call Black people “Blacks” and admonishing anything progressive, such as trans rights, as reasons Democrats lost so big in the 2024 election.
The reality is, pundits are validating bigoted beliefs targeting marginalized communities.
The Acceleration Research Institute defines militant accelerationism as a set of strategies aimed at “exacerbating social divisions to hasten the collapse of society, often through violent means”. In other words, it describes what we’ve witnessed in various online forums for the past two decades. It didn’t gain substantial momentum until Steve Bannon and billionaires like Robert Mercer and his daughter Rebekah joined forces with other wealthy elites such as Betsy DeVos and Sears heiress Nina Rosenwald to support these movements financially and politically.
While many ignored the rise and growth of hate groups during the Biden administration, taking eyes off of them allowed their ideas to prosper. Their beliefs and propaganda have permeated into all aspects of society. From making “boys in girls' sports” and “men in girls' bathrooms” polarizing issues to villainizing Latinos and Black people as criminals and connecting them all back to “criminal aliens,” they’re succeeding in accelerating movements that, if unchecked, will continue to divide the nation as planned.
Funding for these groups continues at unprecedented levels. With the addition of so-called “think tanks” like the Conservative Partnership Institute (CPI) and others, the flow of dark money shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon. Organizations like CPI boast memberships of prominent names like Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Mike Lee (R-UT) and Reps. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), and Ralph Norman (R-SC).
What’s happening today is the culmination of the incremental acceptance of hateful ideologies and racist conspiracy theories like the so-called Great Replacement, which argues that there is a concerted effort – led by Jews – to make white people extinct. This is the basis for everything Trump’s platform stands for. However, most of his supporters don’t see it, choose to ignore it, or believe that this truth is misinformation to undermine his presidency. Trump’s, or should we say, Stephen Miller’s and Tom Homan’s immigration policies are based on this racist idea.
Most Trump supporters choose to ignore this reality despite the harm it will do to millions of people, including them. Like the racism of old, most white people are willing to cause themselves harm as long as it hurts nonwhite people more. That part of U.S. society remains unchanged and will never change unless and until we start addressing it head-on. It behooves everyone in society to start calling it out in their proximity among friends, family, and coworkers.
That includes those reporting what they consider “news” and how they frame the stories.

What saddens me more than anything, is know we will NEVER have elections again in my lifetime. People who say otherwise are delusional when we've heard trump say it himself. The GOP rethuglicans are digging their claws deep into our government and systems that they are destroying as we speak. My parents (rip) were a part of the Montgomery Civil Rights movement and I miss them, but I'm glad they are not here to see that their sacrifice was in vain. I hate to sound like a defeatist, but the ONLY way there could be change, is if everyone collectively stood up and was willing to sacrifice their comforts, boycotting and NOT spending extra money with ANY corporation that stands with trump and from what I see, that will never happen because people can't give up their starbucks, amazon, netflix subscriptions walmarts...etc. BTW, I'm only one person, but in memory of and as an extension of my parents activism, I actively boycott all of the companies I mentioned and more. I haven't watched or supported ANY NFL, basketball, athletes, american TV shows, movies, listened to or supported any american music artists, celebrities...for over 20 years. So it can be done, but I don't see people willing to do the work and make sacrifices for our democracy. I wish we had a collective backbone like the South Koreans did when they shut down their wannabe dictator in under 7 hours.
