MAGA with a blue hat- The fabulous failure was all about illegal immigration and starvation wages as a way to retain jobs via lower production costs at Tyson and WalMart where Hilary sat on the board of directors for marketing Made in America.
Dude, you are so right in that piece ... I'm French, I've been here for 11 years, and I've been waiting for 4 years in January for my green card case to be dealt with ... I was married to an American citizen, got a green card that way, but divorced her (she was depressive, violent, and suicidal) before the two year mark for lifting the conditional status on my green card. I've been trying to adjust my status since then. Every year I have had to wait a full month at least for the extension to my green card from the government (effectively being illegal for that time like the 40% you're talking about in your piece - my lawyers legit told me to avoid cops during that time because chances are I'd end up in jail before they figure out my status is not exactly illegal even if all my paperwork is expired). That means that every year I've had to renew my driving licence (only this year the NC motor vehicle division decided to give everyone a full 8 year driving licence because of the backlog ... It was literally all people like me in the DMV ... regular citizens were allowed to renew online every other time they had to in a prior effort to clean the backlog). I also had to clinch my butt cheeks hoping my work won't ask me for an updated paperwork (they haven't) because I don't have any for 1/2 month per year ... Guys, I am a college professor teaching at a community college (everybody in my hierarchy telling me I'm one of their best elements) with a PhD from the university of Kentucky (not that I should get priority because of that but to show that no one is immune). I have been faculty association president here, I've successfully secured a raise for our faculty salaries by negotiating with our college president and the county legislature ... I've been around. Finally, my lawyers convinced me to ask for citizenship in order to force the green card agency to give me one. Each of these steps cost me money (to give you an idea, the naturalization has been $1500 lawyer + $700 application fees so far) so imagine that all along the way since 10 years ago. I'm only making $60K/year here (which is good, but let me remind you that I have a PhD ... And yes, I could go in the industry for more money, however, I like teaching and there is still the green card issue don't forget).
Sorry for the rent, this election has added to my stress and anxiety here. I can't even imagine what other immigrants with families without my luck (yes, I am one of the lucky ones here) have to go through ... immigrant students come to me with stories ... they trust me, rightfully so, but I'm one of the few they can at the college.
I'm sorry you have to deal with this. Our immigration system is broken and sadly, it's intentional so they can force us to live our lives without peace.
You're right, it's all about control. Easier to ultimately not give a green card, even if years down the line, than to have to deport a green card holder!
I'm hoping my two white neighbors with Trump signs take theirs down soon. I doubt it, but we'll see. Glad to hear some Latinos are waking up to reality.
Keep it up Arturo.

No doubt that the attacks on immigrants is bipartisan. Frankly, it's disgusting to me.

True.
Our Latino neighbors no longer have a “Trump Vance” yard sign up. Not sure who took it down or why, but I feel a small feeling of relief.
