I truly do not understand why Biden hasn't replaced Christopher Wray, who despite clarifying the #1 national security threats to be white supremacists, refuses to take aggressive action to infiltrate and stop these groups.
I don't understand the refusal of the Democratic leadership to explain the dangers of extremism, which never ends with one group... that's just how it starts...
I also struggle to understand why Garland, despite his lofty promises, has done nothing to protect voters of color from clearly unconstitutional voter suppression laws.
I don't understand why American facing the imminent demise of democracy fail to do what Israe did today...amass in huge numbers to protest Netanyahu's plans to dismember Israeli democracy. Why are we so passive?
Finally, I don't understand why Americans who are not white men don't put aside their differences to form a meaningful coalition. They cannot honestly think they won't be next.
Garland definitely won't save us...I'm not convinced he's sentient at this point. Scotus is irredeemably corrupted, the media is unable or unwilling to perform their Constitutional mandate as the 4th rail of democracy. Congressional leadership seems to be engaged in magical thinking. So why won't we help ourselves?
Too many people are insulated by their own lives. When the fascism finally gets to them, it will likely be too late. I've been doing this for nearly two decades and no one ever heeds the warnings as we steadily creeped from authoritarian policies to where we are now. It's been a progressive change for decades but was accelerated after 9/11. Scary times indeed.
