Right-wing conservatives seem more gullible when it comes to conspiracies and misinformation. They are easily outraged and distracted by false flags.

To be honest, I see quite a susceptibility to misinformation on both sides, though clearly about different issues and to different extents. The GOP drumbeat about 'crime waves' before the midterms (mindlessly amplified by MSM) did as much to sway the House GOP win by flipping bluecseats red in NY and CA, as anything short of gerrymandering.

Where the right-wing audience differs is in their desperation to ratify their false beliefs and biases.

In the story cited, the appropriate response is that EVEN IF a victim was having an affair with someone close to an officer, that isn't an excuse for an ambush and an execution.

Those who create the lies, those who repeat the lies without verified sourcing, and those who swallow the lies without question all occupy a continuum of culpability.

I thought this was an interesting complementary newsletter to today's topic.
