When has our ruling class really cared about democracy in Latin America? I struggle to remember a time, and I'm no spring chicken.

A recent study, going back to the 80s, suggests you are correct. Overwhelmingly, new laws favor wealthy donors wishes over average American wishes

A recent NY Times article stated that the US has made over 3 billion in oil income yet only gave 300 million for equake aid to Venezuela government. 300 million is nothing to sneeze about, but the trump regime having control of these 'profits" is ludicrous.

With all of these plundered resources among so many people and corporate entities, people are still digging through dirt with their hands to recover loved ones. It is disaster capitalism at its finest.

I hadn’t heard anything about Venezuela for some time until the terrible earthquakes hit, all the focus has been on Iran it seems in the legacy media. Thanks for informing us and not forgetting about the people of Venezuela. So, I guess Rubio and company have their sights on Cuba for their next military conquest or should I say “acquisition deal”?

The whole thing reeks of piracy and Machado embarrassed herself for nothing. What a disaster for the Venezuelan people so far.

I’ve donated to help the earthquake victims in Venezuela. Please consider doing the same.
