After decades of ruining lives over possession of marijuana, those who've suffered under oppressive laws deserve restitution

We have been witnessing a broader acceptance and the normalization of recreational marijuana use all over the country. If the State you live in hasn’t legalized weed yet, you can be assured that it will soon enough.

However, legalizing marijuana is extremely problematic for scores of people who’ve been charged and incarcerated for simple possession of marijuana as a result of the war on drugs. A war that has disproportionately affected people of color for decades.

Families destroyed.

Property lost.

Entire communities are oppressed.

Many people consider pot as a gateway to much worse drugs resulting in ruining lives. The thing is, marijuana IS a gateway drug. Just not in the way most people use the terminology or its meaning.
